Aimee Oswald, CD (DONA), HCHI
Certified Birth Doula, Certified Hypnobabies Childbirth Instructor
Aimee Oswald, a Los Angeles native, attended her first birth 21 years ago long before she knew the meaning of the word "doula." The wonder and magic of that day lived strong in her heart and 3 years later helped her in the birth of her first daughter. Ms. Oswald, served as an unofficial doula in several of her friends' births and mentored them through their labor. Shortly after the birth of her younger daughter, Aimee was inspired to pursue her passion of serving women in birth and turn it into a career.
Aimee has been attending births as a DONA certified doula since 2006. For her, being a doula is not a job, but a calling: “This work has been placed upon my heart and I know this is what I am meant to be doing.”
"My role as a doula is to educate, remind parents of their choices and support them in any and all decisions they make. Husbands or partners are an extremely important part of the birth team and together we support the woman and work towards helping her have the most positive birth for her."
Aimee Has been helping parent prepare for birth with her recent certification in Hypnobabies - hypnosis focused childbirth preparation. She is a DONA internationl member and currently serves on the board of directors of the Doulas Association of Southern CA (DASC)
